Real Madrid are allegedly determined to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves this summer and could offer Eduardo Camavinga as part of a move.

Real Madrid are reportedly determined to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves this summer and are prepared to offer Eduardo Camavinga as part of a move for the Portugal international.

Neves had been linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but it was PSG that ultimately signed him from Benfica, and the 20-year-old has been in excellent form during the 2024-25 campaign.

The Portuguese has managed four goals and nine assists in 34 appearances in all competitions, including two goals and eight assists in Ligue 1, with the midfielder proving to be one of his team's standout players this term.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are huge admirers of Neves, viewing him as the ideal player to strengthen their midfield.

The report claims that the reigning European champions are willing to offer French midfielder Camavinga plus €20m (£16.7m) for Neves, but it is unclear at this stage whether PSG would be open to such a deal.

Real Madrid 'determined to sign' Neves from PSG

PSG paid Benfica €70m (£58.4m) for Neves last year, while Camavinga has a valuation of €80m (£66.7m), according to transfermarkt.

Camavinga has again been an important player for Real Madrid during the 2024-25 campaign, making 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing two assists in the process.

However, there has recently been speculation surrounding the 22-year-old's future, with Real Madrid believed to be open to selling him for the right price, and the club's desire to sign Neves could mean that Camavinga is allowed to leave.

The Frenchman made the move to Los Blancos from Rennes in August 2021, and he has represented Los Blancos on 170 occasions, scoring three goals and registering nine assists in the process.

Would a deal suit all parties?

Camavinga and Neves are both exceptional midfielders, so if PSG were willing to let their Portuguese star leave, then they may be able to sign a brilliant replacement in return.

It is understood that a return to France does appeal to Camavinga, and the fact that he is not a guaranteed starter at Real Madrid when head coach Carlo Ancelotti has a full squad could lead to him considering his future.

The money involved also seems fair considering Camavinga's valuation and Neves' form this season, so the deal could suit all parties, but it would be a very complicated negotiation and one that might advance deep into the summer transfer window, which is not how Real Madrid like to conduct their business.
