A report claims that Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is to stay in the Spanish capital this summer, regardless of any interest from the Premier League.

Gareth Bale is reportedly serious about seeing out the remainder of his contract with Real Madrid, even if it means sitting in the stands.

The Wales international failed to feature in any of Madrid's final three La Liga matches of the season, missing out on squad inclusion entirely for two of them and remaining on the bench against Real Betis last weekend.

Speaking after the 2-0 home loss to Betis, Zinedine Zidane suggested that the 2013 signing from Tottenham Hotspur is now part of Los Blancos' "past" and has no role to play in their future.

Despite supposedly being offered a route out of the Bernabeu by clubs in the Premier League, Marca claims that Bale is going nowhere as no other team can match his £15m-a-year wages.

Bale, previously touted as a target for Manchester United, Chelsea and former club Tottenham, has scored 102 goals in 231 appearances for Madrid.
