A report claims that Everton have joined the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Everton have reportedly joined the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

The 19-year-old is currently contracted to Diego Simeone's side, but has spent this season on loan with fellow capital outfit Rayo Vallecano.

The Spaniard's performances have not gone unnoticed, with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal displaying a keen interest in the teenager.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton have also made their interest known and will submit an official offer when the transfer window opens.

Saul's contract with Atletico expires in 2018.
