Report: Cristiano Ronaldo to cost Manchester United £200m

Manchester United will reportedly need to fork out around £200m to land Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United will have to pay out around £200m if they want to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Portuguese international has been heavily linked with a return to the Red Devils and The Mirror claims that other European clubs have deemed the 30-year-old to be too expensive.

However, United are believed to be the only side able to afford Ronaldo's transfer fee, which Real have set at around £60m, plus his wages of £380,000-a-week.

Should the forward earn loyalty bonuses and image rights, he is expected pocket a further £60m if he returns to Manchester.

Some United fans have taken to the skies to try to convince Ronaldo to return to the club, having arranged for a plane to fly over the El Madrigal during Real's game at Villarreal on Saturday with a plea for the player to sign.
