Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is reportedly favouring a move to Tottenham Hotspur as he prepares to leave Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window.
The 23-year-old has been told that he is surplus to requirements at the Red Devils by manager Louis van Gaal and is ready to seek a move away from the club next week.
The England international wants to move to Spurs rather than other interested Premier League clubs Hull City and Sunderland, in either a £15m permanent transfer or a loan move, claims The Mirror.
United are also apparently closing in on the signing of Angel di Maria, which would push Welbeck further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old scored nine goals in the Premier League last season.
