Roma boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to sign Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood on loan for the 2023-24 campaign.
The Red Devils are thought to be close to concluding their internal investigation into the events that led to Greenwood being arrested in the early stages of 2022.
The forward was initially arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and he was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
Greenwood was also facing charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but all criminal charges against him have since been dropped, with the England international now able to resume his career.
The forward is unlikely to be brought back into the first team at Old Trafford next season, but the club are believed to be leaning away from a full sale, with head coach Erik ten Hag said to be firmly against Greenwood departing on a permanent basis.

A loan exit appears to be the most likely outcome this summer, and a number of clubs are believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, Roma have emerged as serious contenders for his signature, with the Italian club's head coach Mourinho keen on a reunion with the player who he managed at Man United.
The report claims that Mourinho has been in contact with Greenwood himself and Greenwood's father to discuss a loan move ahead of the new campaign.
The forward is said to be desperate to resume his career as soon as possible and would be interested in moving to Rome due to his close relationship with the Serie A team's manager.

Greenwood is believed to have placed his six-bed mansion up for let, fuelling suggestions that he is preparing to leave Man United on a temporary basis.
The forward has another two years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, and it is currently thought to be unlikely that he will depart the club permanently at this stage of proceedings.
Greenwood has scored 35 goals and registered 12 assists in 129 appearances for the 20-time English champions in all competitions.
The Englishman's last appearance for the Red Devils came against West Ham United in the Premier League in January 2022, and he has neither played for the club nor trained with them since the allegations.
Man United will resume pre-season training on Monday, with the players not involved for their countries in the recent internationals returning to the Carrington complex.
