Manchester United reportedly identify six centre-back targets for the summer transfer window, including Raphael Varane and Ibrahima Konate.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and director of football John Murtough have reportedly identified six centre-back targets for the summer transfer window.

While a new attacker will be a priority for the club if Edinson Cavani leaves after just one season, United are supposedly seeking a long-term partner for Harry Maguire in the rearguard.

With Eric Bailly and Phil Jones's futures both shrouded in uncertainty, the Red Devils have been linked with a host of names to bolster their defensive options for the 2021-22 campaign, including Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

However, the 34-year-old does not appear on the six-man shortlist reported by Eurosport, who claim that Raphael Varane, Pau Torres, Jules Kounde and Ibrahima Konate are all on the Red Devils' radar.

The other two names on Man United's purported shortlist have not been revealed, but they are both likely to emerge as serious targets for the club when the transfer window reopens.

Reports last month claimed that Liverpool were putting the final touches on a deal for Konate, but RB Leipzig have supposedly been informed by the Reds that they will not be pursuing a deal for the Frenchman.
