Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was so incensed with his squad after the loss to Cardiff City that he threatened to sell half of them, according to a report.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly branded his players a 'disgrace' and threatened to cut his squad in half following Manchester United's defeat to Cardiff City.

The Red Devils ended their campaign in an embarrassing fashion as they lost 2-0 at home to the relegated Bluebirds, leaving them sixth in the final Premier League standings.

Following a good run of form upon Solskjaer's arrival in December, United finished the season with only two wins in 12 matches in all competitions, losing eight and drawing two.

According to The Sun, the Norwegian - handed a three-year deal at the end of March - was so incensed with his first-team flops that he informed some of them that they have no future at the club.

Paul Pogba was involved in an exchange of words with a supporter following the weekend defeat to Cardiff, while Alexis Sanchez apologised to fans on social media.

United's players are due to report back for pre-season training in early July.
