Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping a close eye on Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton, who is on the radar of several Premier League clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been keeping a close eye on the development of Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton, who is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

The teenager has impressed scouts since making his debut for Jon Dahl Tomasson's side and has now made 39 appearances for Blackburn across the last two seasons.

Wharton was part of the Blackburn starting 11 that faced Chelsea in the EFL Cup last month and is considered one of the Championship's best young players, which is something that is attracting the interest of some of England's top clubs.

According to 90min, Spurs are monitoring the 19-year-old closely but may face stiff competition to sign him with Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United among those interested in the midfielder.

The report also mentions that Tottenham are on good terms with Rovers, having dealt with them last summer when they signed 18-year-old Ashley Phillips from the Lancashire side.

Phillips is yet to make his senior debut for Spurs, but it is understood that he has impressed for the Under-21s and he has appeared in several of Ange Postecoglou's matchday squads.

Owing to a lengthy injury and suspension list, Phillips was expected to make his debut for Postecoglou's side in recent weeks but sustained an ankle injury while on international duty with the England Under-19s earlier this month.

Spurs also brought in 20-year-old Argentinan Alejo Veliz last summer and are believed to have an agreement in place to sign 16-year-old Hajduk Split centre-back Luka Vuskovic once he turns 18.
