Manchester United 'eyeing Nathaniel Clyne swoop'

Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne is reportedly a top transfer target for Manchester United.

Manchester United have reportedly identified Southampton right back Nathaniel Clyne as their top transfer target.

The 23-year-old has impressed for the Saints on a regular basis since the club returned to the Premier League.

The Daily Star claims that the Red Devils sent a scouting delegation to watch Clyne in action during Southampton's 2-1 victory at Newcastle United last weekend.

While Clyne is believed to be United's primary target, they may face competition from rivals Liverpool for his signature.

If a deal for the England international does not materialise, the Old Trafford outfit may turn their attention to Everton's Seamus Coleman.
