Manchester United have reportedly opened preliminary contract discussions with Ashley Young.
The winger, who joined the Red Devils from Aston Villa in 2011, is currently contracted to Old Trafford until the end of next season.
He has been in positive form since Louis van Gaal took charge of the club in the summer, with the Dutch boss believed to be eager to retain his services.
However, according to the Daily Star, a sticking point between the two parties could be the financial terms of the deal.
It is believed that Young currently earns £120,000 a week, but United may insist that he takes a pay cut before fresh terms are agreed.
The 29-year-old has made 18 United appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.
