Joey Barton has revealed that his Marseille teammate Loic Remy is to join Newcastle United this month.
Recent reports had linked the Magpies with a move for the French international following Demba Ba's departure to Chelsea.
While there has been no official word from either club, Barton has admitted that he has told Remy what to expect on Tyneside.
"Good luck to Loic in Newcastle. Don't worry i've told him what to expect. Great guy. Perfect club for him. #toonarmy," Barton wrote on Twitter.
Speculation has suggested that the Magpies will have to part with around £10m to secure Remy's services.
