Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that Marseille striker Loic Remy turned down the chance to hold talks with him over a January move.
Redknapp, who chased the 23-year-old when he was in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, flew over to France last weekend to watch the transfer target but failed to meet the French international.
"I went over last week to watch him, not that I needed to, as I watched him seven times when I was at Spurs. I couldn't even get a meeting with him," the QPR boss told reporters.
"I was hoping for a meeting with him to encourage him to come and he wasn't being disrespectful. People say he was being disrespectful not talking to us but he was in a position where last year at Spurs he was interested and I got on well with him, and I think he felt embarrassed coming to see me to say he wasn't interested in coming to QPR."
Newcastle United have also been linked with a January move for Remy following Demba Ba's recent departure to Chelsea.
