Aitor Karanka hails "amazing" Middlesbrough win

Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka describes his side's 2-0 win away at Ipswich Town as "amazing".

Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka has praised his squad after they moved to the top of the Championship table with a 2-0 win at Ipswich Town.

Goals from Cristhian Stuani and David Nugent proved to be the difference at Portman Road, and Karanka was quick to describe the triumph as "amazing" as they recovered from their League Cup defeat to Everton earlier in the week.

After the match, the 42-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It was an amazing win. We haven't won here since March 1993 and Ipswich were the better team in the first half when they were comfortable, played with more intensity and had the better chances.

"If they had scored the first goal, we would have had a problem. But we played better in the second half and we controlled the game.

"It is good being at the top of the table. We are there because we are doing good things and we have an amazing squad, a better one than last season. But there is still a long way to go."

Middlesbrough are next in action against Birmingham City on December 12.
