Middlesbrough have signed Adam Clayton from Huddersfield Town on a four-year deal.
The 25-year-old, who is a product of Manchester City's youth system, won Huddersfield's Player of the Year award last season, but has decided to seek pastures new.
Boro boss Aitor Karanka told the club's official website: "Adam is another player who will improve our squad and I'm delighted to welcome him to Boro.
"He is a strong player and a strong character and just the sort of person I want in my squad."
The deal for Clayton has seen Jacob Butterfield move in the opposite direction.
