Middlesbrough confirm Alvaro Negredo signing

Middlesbrough confirm a season-long loan deal for Alvaro Negredo.

Middlesbrough have confirmed the signing of Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo on a season-long loan deal.

The 30-year-old was made available by Los Che after scoring just 10 times in two years with the east coast side, prompting Boro manager Aitor Karanka into action.

Negredo - Karanka's sixth signing of the summer - will now join up with the Boro squad in Marbella as they prepare for their return to the top flight next month.

Prior to his move to Valencia, the Spaniard spent two years in the Premier League with Manchester City, where he scored 23 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions.
