Ian Holloway: 'Millwall simply not good enough in Sheffield Wednesday defeat'

Millwall manager Ian Holloway is looking for an instant response from his side when they travel to face fellow Championship strugglers Rotherham United at the weekend.

Ian Holloway has admitted that Millwall must immediately bounce back from this evening's defeat against Sheffield Wednesday in order to keep their Championship survival hopes alive.

The Lions, who remain three points from safety in 22nd place, fell to their ninth home loss of the season as Wednesday recorded a 3-1 win at The Den.

Millwall have a chance to make amends following their latest setback when they take on Rotherham United, the side sitting directly above them in the league table, in their next outing.

"We've had two or three chances but couldn't score first," Holloway told reporters. "Their second goal came far too quickly after the opener.

"At the end of the day you make your own luck in football. People stopped doing the right things after they scored. Every time we let a goal in here it feels like doom and gloom.

"We have to be better than that for our supporters. We have to bounce straight back at Rotherham. Our away form has been good so we have to continue that."

Millwall have won just two of their last 12 league games.
