Everton manager Ronald Koeman stresses that there is "no way" he would take the Netherlands job as he is committed to the Toffees.

Ronald Koeman has claimed that there is "no way" he would take the Netherlands job as he is committed to Everton.

The Dutchman has endured a difficult start to the season, with the Toffees sitting 16th in the Premier League table despite strengthening their ranks over the summer.

The Netherlands, meanwhile, are looking for a new manager following their failure to reach the World Cup, with Dick Advocaat only in the role until the end of their qualifying campaign.

A campaign has started in Holland, headed by De Telegraaf - the newspaper in which Koeman has a column - to get the 54-year-old to take charge of the national team.

However, when asked by reporters on Friday if there was a possibility of him saying yes if he received a call from the Dutch FA, Koeman replied: "No way.

"I am not surprised they put my name in because they did the same some years ago. I am not surprised but I am Everton manager. That's the most important [thing] and nothing else.

"It's not realistic now because we have other business to do with Everton. We need to win, and we need to change our situation in the table. That starts this Sunday. That's the priority for me for the long term."

The Netherlands have now failed to qualify for two consecutive major tournaments.
