Remy Cabella has thanked his new French teammates for helping him settle into life at Newcastle United.
The summer signing from Montpellier joined Newcastle's first-team squad in Gelsenkirchen today, ahead of the first game of the Schalke 04 Cup.
"It was very important for me because it will help me to integrate," Cabella is quoted as saying by The Chronicle. "To know the team and to know all the players will help us to develop together.
"Learning English is something I am looking forward to doing as well along with my teammates, it will help me talk to everybody not just the French players."
"[Moussa Sissoko and Yohan Cabaye] gave me nothing but good advice. This helped me to decide where I wanted to be."
Magpies boss Alan Pardew will now decide whether the 24-year-old is fit enough for his debut against Malaga or Schalke this weekend.
