Newcastle United's Alan Pardew hoping to find "solutions" with owner Mike Ashley

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is hopeful that he and owner Mike Ashley can find the "solutions" to causes of the club's dismal second half of the season.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he and owner Mike Ashley will discuss how to solve the club's issues that have dogged the second half of their season.

The Magpies, who are ninth in the Premier League table, have lost six of their last seven outings.

"I'll be as honest and frank as I can be as a manager," Pardew said in Friday's press conference. "I'm sure Mike will have an opinion what we need to do better. Hopefully, we'll get the right solutions to get a season like we had two years ago.

"It's very important to talk about this season. In the first half of the season, we were one of the best teams in the league. In the second half, we weren't. We weren't good enough, and the results weren't good enough."

Newcastle will take on Premier League title contenders Liverpool at Anfield in their final game of the season on Sunday.
