Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew pleased by double swoop

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew believes that the club's proposed double signing of Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow represents "good business".

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has described the club's proposed double signing of Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow as "good business".

The Nottingham Forest duo are expected to join the Magpies in the coming days before being loaned back to the City Ground for the new season.

"Every time we sign a player we think it's good business. We think it's part of what we do," Pardew is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"It's our judgement. They are two great assets for Newcastle United."

Newcastle return to pre-season action on Sunday when they welcome Real Sociedad to St James' Park.
