Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga has revealed that he is hoping to secure a move to the Premier League this summer.
The Mali international was close to completing a switch to Newcastle United 12 months ago, only for the deal to fall through.
However, Maiga has insisted that his desire to play in England still remains strong, despite the disappointment of failing to seal a move to the Sports Direct Arena.
"My dream has always been to play in the Premier League, the best league in the world," he said. "I almost joined Newcastle, but it did not happen.
"Some Sochaux fans held that against me, but not all of them.
"It is still my ambition to play in the Premier League, so if a team wants to talk I will listen to them once they have reached an agreement with Sochaux."
The 24-year-old joined Sochaux in 2010 from Le Mans.
