Newcastle United are interested in signing Atalanta BC's Duvan Zapata, according to a report.
The Magpies have been active within this transfer window, signing Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood so far as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his squad to help fight against relegation.
However, they are not finished and the 30-year-old striker is an option they are looking at, with the Colombian having scored 12 goals this season in 22 appearances, while also creating seven assists.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle have made an offer to bring him in on loan until the end of the season, with the Magpies aiming to sign him this month.
The deal would include an obligation to buy, providing the club avoids relegation; however, Atalanta would rather agree to a permanent deal immediately.
The Magpies will be back in action on Saturday in a crucial Premier League fixture against Leeds United.
