Report: Newcastle United eye Gimnastic's Jose Naranjo

A report claims that Newcastle United are interested in signing Gimnastic striker Jose Naranjo, who struck 15 goals in the Segunda Division last season.

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Gimnastic striker Jose Naranjo.

The 21-year-old, who is believed to have a £2m release clause in his current contract, scored 15 times for Gimnastic last season to help them finish third in the Segunda Division.

According to Cadena Ser, Magpies boss Rafael Benitez has identified the striker as a potential summer signing as he builds a squad for the 2016-17 Championship season.

A host of players are expected to depart St James' Park this summer, with Georgino Wijnaldum and Moussa Sissoko both strongly linked with moves in recent days.
