Moussa Sissoko wants to remain in English football

Newcastle United's Moussa Sissoko reveals that, while he is not completely against moving abroad this summer, he would ideally like to remain in English football.

Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has admitted that remaining in English football this coming season is a "priority" amid talks of a move away from the club.

The 26-year-old, who the Magpies are hoping to keep hold of despite the rumoured interest, has been linked heavily with a number of Premier League sides in recent weeks.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in a three-way battle to land the Euro 2016 star's signature, while Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Hamburger SV and Juventus have also been tipped with making a bid.

Sissoko wants to remain in England, however, particularly in the top flight where he spent three seasons with United before suffering relegation in May.

"My priority is to stay in England even if I'm not against going to search for a new challenge elsewhere," he told France Football magazine. "I particularly want to play with big players and in top-level matches."

Newcastle are understood to value Sissoko at around £33m following his impressive displays for France at this summer's Euros.
