Kaka: 'Orlando City move is a dream come true'

Brazilian midfielder Kaka describes his move to new MLS franchise Orlando City as a "dream come true".

Former AC Milan and Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has said that his move to new MLS franchise Orlando City is a "dream come true".

The 32-year-old Brazilian completed his move to the club earlier today having exercised a get-out clause in his contract with Milan after they failed to qualify for Europe last season.

Kaka is known to have a long-standing friendship with Orlando owner Flavio Augusto da Silva, and the former World Player of the Year and World Cup winner revealed that he had been in talks over a move to America since 2012.

"They said to me that they had this dream to get a team and build an amazing team in America. So from 2012 until now we have been speaking a lot, flirting a lot until today that we signed this final contract and I'm so happy for that. It's a dream come true," Kaka told reporters.

"I've been speaking with other teams two years ago. I had the opportunities to go to New York. In the end I think God had another special thing for me in Orlando. And so I'm happy because for me it's a very nice project.

"We can build a lot of good things here in Orlando and also because Flavio is Brazilian, for the Brazilian people it's nice to have this focus now on America and American football."

Kaka will return to his first club Sao Paulo on a six-month loan before linking up with Orlando in January in time for the start of the 2015 MLS season.
