Sports Mole casts an eye over Saturday's League Two action, including the match where top took on second.

Gillingham extended their lead at the top of the League Two table with a 2-0 victory away at Port Vale in the biggest match of the day.

The Gills claimed the points thanks to strikes from veteran frontman Deon Burton and Chris Whelpdale.

Vale in second place are now six points behind the leaders with eight matches played.

Elsewhere, two penalties from Warren Feeney saw Plymouth Argyle battle back from two goals down to win 3-2 away at Morecambe.

Dagenham & Redbridge also overturned a two-goal deficit away at Rochdale to claim a share of the spoils at Spotland. Michael Spillane and Sam Williams were the goalscorers for the Daggers.

Southend United left it late to claim the points against Exeter City at Roots Hall. The Shrimpers were trailing with 12 minutes to go, but goals from Barry Coor and striker Freddy Eastwood ensured that the three points stayed in Essex.

League Two results: Accrington 1-0 Aldershot; Barnet 0-0 Rotherham; Bristol Rovers 0-0 Fleetwood Town; Morecambe 2-3 Plymouth; Northampton 0-0 Chesterfield; Oxford Utd 0-2 Bradford; Port Vale 0-2 Gillingham; Rochdale 2-2 Dag & Red; Southend 2-1 Exeter; Torquay Utd 1-1 Burton Albion; Wycombe 0-1 AFC Wimbledon; York City 0-0 Cheltenham
