Police investigate non-league match

Norfolk Police begin a probe following an incident at a non-league match between King's Lynn Town and Coalville.

Police in Norfolk have launched an investigation into an incident that occurred during last night's Evo-Stik Division One South match between King's Lynn Town and Coalville.

Officers were originally called to the Walks Stadium in King's Lynn 20 minutes before the match started after around 20 Coalville supporters were refused entry into the ground.

Then, at the final whistle, a number of visiting fans were involved in a clash near the tunnel.

"We are investigating an incident in the tunnel and liaising with the football club. This incident is likely to be referred to the FA by the club for further investigation," said a spokesman for Norfolk Police.

King's Lynn manager Gary Setchell added: "We were in the middle of the pitch clapping our fans after a great match so I didn't see everything.

"All I know is something happened as the Coalville players went up the tunnel and the police got involved and took them to their dressing room."

The Linnets won the match 3-1 in front of 1,123 supporters.
