Tim Flowers replaces David Lee as interim boss at Northampton Town.

Northampton Town have announced that Tim Flowers will replace David Lee as the club's caretaker boss.

The assistant manager has stepped down as interim coach "on good terms" with the club's heirarchy after a crushing 7-2 defeat to Shrewsbury at the weekend.

"We part on good terms with David," chairman David Cardoza told the club's official website.

"David came here as part of Gary Johnson's staff and we wish him well for the future.

"Tim Flowers will take caretaker charge of the first team until further notice as our search for a new permanent manager continues."

Former manager Gary Johnson left the club last week.
