Welsh FA president Trefor Lloyd Hughes "livid" with Team GB plans

Football Association of Wales president Trefor Lloyd Hughes says that he is "livid" with the Football Association's plans to enter football teams for Rio 2016.

Football Association of Wales president Trefor Lloyd Hughes has stated that he is "livid" with the English FA's plans to enter Great Britain football teams for Rio 2016.

Both men and women's teams featured at London 2012 as a one-off, according to the FA, but they have since written to the Scottish, Irish and Welsh FA to ask for their support.

While Hughes has spoken out, he doubts that the Welsh FA's opposition will block the FA from sending teams to Rio de Janeiro.

"I am absolutely gutted with the English FA," Hughes told BBC Sport.

"If they want to work with us they have to be more open with us and they don't seem to be keeping to agreements. I'm livid about it."

Back in 2012, the men's side, coached by Stuart Pearce, lost in the quarter-finals to South Korea, while the women's team were knocked out at the same stage by Canada.
