Patrick Vieira will reportedly look to keep striker Mario Balotelli at Nice if he becomes the new boss of the Ligue 1 outfit.

Nice have reportedly decided to offer Mario Balotelli a new contract if Patrick Vieira becomes the club's new boss.

Vieira - currently in charge of New York City FC - is being tipped to join the French outfit in the near future and according to RMC, it could lead to a change in stance over Balotelli.

Balotelli is currently in discussions with a number of different clubs, with his deal coming to an end after a successful two years at Allianz Riviera.

However, Vieira will allegedly look to keep the Italy international for another 12 months, having featured alongside Balotelli at Inter Milan.

The 27-year-old is said to be attracting interest from clubs in Serie A and the Premier League, while Marseille are allegedly keen on keeping the striker in Ligue 1.
