Aidy Boothroyd committed to Northampton Town

Aidy Boothroyd insists that he is committed to Northampton Town, despite speculation over his position as manager.

Northampton Town manager Aidy Boothroyd has stated that he remains committed to the club, despite speculation over his future.

The 42-year-old's position at Sixfields has come under scrutiny following Northampton's FA Cup defeat to non-league Grimsby Town last Saturday.

However, Boothroyd has insisted that he still the right man for the job.

"I don't want to go anywhere," Boothroyd told the Northampton Chronicle & Echo. "Stability is the key, I really do think that. When the chapter in my book comes out about my time here it will be about it being a learning curve.

"It's been a tough first half of the season, no doubt about that, and next year I will know what I want to do because of it.

"It's very easy to change the manager, change this or change that. If you think he's good then you stick with him, if not you don't."

Northampton, who are 23rd in League Two, travel to Bury on Saturday.
