Saturday's League One predictions including Birmingham City vs. Rotherham United

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Birmingham City vs. Rotherham United.

Barnsley vs. Burton Albion (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Two sides in contrasting runs of form will square off at Oakwell on Saturday, as Barnsley entertain Burton Albion.

The hosts have dropped out of the top six in the League One table following three consecutive defeats, while their visitors have moved within three points of safety thanks to a three-match winning run.

We say: Barnsley 1-2 Burton Albion

Given the hosts' recent struggles and underwhelming home record and the visitors' growing momentum in the fight for survival, we fancy Burton Albion to spring a surprise on Barnsley on Saturday and leave with all three points, given the fine form of their attackers in particular.

Stevenage vs. Exeter (Saturday, 12.30pm)

In-form Stevenage are set to host down-on-their-luck Exeter City at Lamex Stadium this Saturday in League One.

The Boro have won three on the bounce ahead of this weekend, and will be confident of taking maximum points against the Grecians as they look to climb the table in the second part of the season.

We say: Stevenage 3-1 Exeter City

Stevenage will come into the game full of confidence after their strong win over Wrexham last time out, while the visitors will be looking to stop the rot.

However, considering their poor form - as well as the fact that they have so many defenders out - it is hard to see Exeter taking anything from this weekend's match, so expect a fourth consecutive win for the Boro on Saturday.

Birmingham vs. Rotherham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Looking to continue their canter towards the Championship, Birmingham City will welcome Rotherham United to St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park for a League One clash on Saturday afternoon.

Blues are back in the Second City following a pair of tricky away matches, whilst the Millers are on their travels after a much-needed success in Yorkshire last time out.

We say: Birmingham City 1-0 Rotherham United

Keeping a clean sheet in each of their last five home matches in League One, Birmingham should be supremely confident of repeating the trick against a Rotherham outfit who are poor travellers.

The Millers squeezed past the attentions of strugglers Cambridge earlier in the week, although we believe that they will have no such fortune against the title favourites.

Blackpool vs. Charlton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

In a match that could affect the race for promotion in League One, Blackpool are set to host in-form Charlton Athletic at Bloomfield Road this Saturday.

The Seasiders have won back-to-back games ahead of this weekend's clash, while the Addicks have won three in a row.

We say: Blackpool 1-2 Charlton Athletic

Both sides are in good form ahead of this weekend's clash, and will be fighting to avoid defeat at the very least as they search for a spot in the playoffs this season.

However, Charlton's strong away record is difficult to ignore, and the character they showed to come from behind in such a crucial game against Bolton could help them to pick up another three points on Saturday.

Cambridge vs. Wycombe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Second-from-bottom will meet second-from-top when relegation-threatened Cambridge United host title-chasing Wycombe Wanderers at Cledara Abbey Stadium on Saturday in League One.

The hosts will face an extremely tough test as they continue to fight for their third-tier survival.

We say: Cambridge United 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers

Cambridge will be desperate to avoid yet another defeat with the potential of relegation becoming more tangible every week.

However, Wycombe are likely to prove too much for Monk's side to withstand, and the title-challengers should pick up all three points on Saturday.

Crawley vs. Wrexham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

In a match that could impact the race for promotion and the relegation battle in League One, strugglers Crawley Town are set to host high-flying Wrexham at Broadfield Stadium on Saturday.

In contrast to their league positions, the Red Devils come into this weekend's clash on the back of a win last time out, while the Red Dragons have struggled so far in 2025.

We say: Crawley Town 1-2 Wrexham

Wrexham may be the favourites in this clash but they have struggled recently, and they are likely to find it tough once again given their poor away record this season.

However, their quality should prove enough to get the win over Crawley, and they could get their season back on track by taking all three points in a close-fought contest on Saturday.

Leyton Orient vs. Stockport (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Leyton Orient play host to Stockport County on Saturday afternoon with both clubs vying to remain in the League One playoff places.

Both clubs have put together impressive runs of form to sit in sixth and fifth place in the table respectively ahead of this contest.

We say: Leyton Orient 1-1 Stockport County

Both clubs will be backing themselves to come through this fixture with three points given their recent form. However, we feel that a low-scoring stalemate could be on the cards, producing a result that will be deemed acceptable by each manager.

Northampton vs. Huddersfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Huddersfield Town make the trip to Northampton Town on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that they need to bolster their position in the League One playoffs.

At a time when the Terriers sit in fourth position in the table, Northampton are down in 20th spot having also gone three games without success.

We say: Northampton Town 1-3 Huddersfield Town

While Northampton will view this as a fixture where they can take advantage of their poor form of their opponents, Huddersfield will see it in the same light. Taking everything into consideration, we are backing Huddersfield to secure a relatively-comfortable win over the relegation candidates.

Reading vs. Bolton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Reading and Bolton Wanderers square off on Saturday afternoon with both clubs battling to remain in contention for the League One playoffs.

At a time when the Royals have dropped down to 10th place in the table, Bolton are seventh having reacted positively to the departure of Ian Evatt.

We say: Reading 2-2 Bolton Wanderers

With Bolton currently on a high ahead of eventually appointing a new manager, they are the clear favourites for this contest. However, we feel that Reading could benefit from being the underdogs to earn a share of the spoils in an entertaining tussle.

Shrewsbury vs. Mansfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Shrewsbury Town are seven points from safety in League One heading into Saturday's gameweek 30 action against mid-table outfit Mansfield Town at New Meadow.

The Shrews fell to their 17th league defeat on Tuesday and the bottom-placed club, in danger of losing their third-tier status after a 10-year stay, aim to prevent an 18th against an opponent on a three-match losing sequence.

We say: Shrewsbury Town 2-1 Mansfield Town

Although both clubs have suffered disappointing results heading into this weekend's fixture, Shrewsbury's three-game run without losing on home soil could become four at Mansfield's expense, with the bottom-placed side eking out a marginal success against mid-table opponents

Wigan vs. Lincoln (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wigan Athletic and Lincoln City meet on Saturday afternoon with both clubs needing victories in the mid-table positions of League One.

At a time when the home side sit in 16th place in the standings, Lincoln are 11th, with just five points separating the two teams.

We say: Wigan Athletic 1-1 Lincoln City

While Wigan may view this contest as a must-not-lose, the visitors will see it as a must win. Taking that into consideration, we can see a low-scoring draw on the cards, the home side being far the happier as they edge away from the relegation zone.
