Alex Neil "not sure" if West Ham United deserved Norwich City draw

Alex Neil says that he felt that his side deserved to win the game after an injury-time equaliser from West Ham United denied Norwich victory at Upton Park on Saturday.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has questioned whether West Ham United deserved a point against his side and praised the performance of his players after the 2-2 draw at Upton Park.

Cheikhou Kouyate's injury-time equaliser denied the Canaries victory on Saturday after Nathan Redmond's late strike looked to have earned all three points for the visitors.

Neil said that he felt that his side were the better team throughout the game, but admitted that Norwich's missed chances ultimately cost them.

"If you don't take your chances at this level you will get punished, but I'm not sure if West Ham deserved a draw," he told reporters.

"There is always going to be disappointment when you are leading with a minute to go, but we were excellent. All that you can ever ask of your players is that they give you everything that they got, and they did today."

"I thought that it was a great game. We scored and had two good opportunities to get another, but the second half was a see-saw. I felt that we played better over the piece, but it is a measure of how far we have come that there is disappointment in the changing room."

The draw leaves Norwich 13th in the Premier League table with nine points from seven games.
