Andrew Surman eyes swift Premier League return for Norwich City

Norwich midfielder Andrew Surman says that the Canaries boast more than enough quality to secure an instant return to the Premier League.

Andrew Surman has revealed that Norwich City are plotting a swift return to the Premier League after being relegated last season.

The Canaries won just eight matches in a campaign which saw manager Chris Hughton sacked in April and replaced with Neil Adams, who was powerless to prevent relegation.

Nevertheless, Surman believes that City have enough quality at their disposal to secure an instant return to the top flight this season.

"We have more than enough in this dressing room to be in the Premier League. That is the main aim and that is the attitude we are taking into games," he told the Pink 'Un.

"We have some decent players and good characters in the dressing room. When you first come back in everyone is on a downer after the relegation but the manager has had a few meetings and made it clear that is in the past and that has gone now.

"Things can change so quickly in football. It was disappointing last season with what happened and the manager leaving but everyone is behind Neil. He has put his stamp on things and we all know what he wants."

Norwich kick off their Championship campaign by facing newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers at Carrow Road on August 10.
