Neil Adams expects raid from Premier League on Norwich City squad

Norwich City manager Neil Adams is expecting more Premier League interest in his key players after they were forced to sell last season's top scorer Robert Snodgrass.

Neil Adams expects to spend the rest of the summer fending off bids from the Premier League for his key Norwich City stars, but admits that "everyone has a price".

The Canaries have already been forced to sell Robert Snodgrass, their top goalscorer from last season, to Hull City following their relegation to the Championship.

Leroy Fer, Gary Hooper and John Ruddy have also been linked with moves away from Carrow Road and back to the top flight, and Adams has admitted that a time will come later in the transfer window when the interest in his key names becomes too much for Norwich to resist.

He told reporters: "There is only four weeks to the league season and I am sure there will be enquiries for lads who were playing in the Premier League last season.

"Unfortunately, there comes a point in the Championship where if the offer is too good to turn down, that is the situation we are now in - Robert Snodgrass being the example. Did I want to lose him? No. He had one year left on his contract and the money we received was good business.

"The reality is everyone has a price. If people are going to come in and the money is right then we have to look at it, but we have stressed we don't want to lose players and anything else at the moment is speculation. Clubs are bound to come looking for our best players. That is the unfortunate side of relegation. We would probably have been doing the same thing if we had stayed up."

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly closing in on a move for Netherlands international Fer, who joined Norwich last summer.
