Dagenham & Redbridge have completed the signing of defender Luke Pennell.
The 20-year-old, who most recently has been playing for Evo-Stik Southern League Premier side Dunstable Town, was believed to have attracted interest from Norwich City.
However, the former MK Dons academy player has now agreed a two-year deal at Victoria Road.
"Luke was a player I watched while at Luton because he was at Dunstable which was local," manager John Still told the club's official website.
"I was under the impression he had gone to Norwich, but as soon as I knew he was still available I tried to do something about it.
"We've been speaking to him over the last couple of weeks and got it over the line today. I look forward to him joining up with the rest of the squad."
Pennell has had previous stints with Rushden and Diamonds and Banbury United.
