Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill and former player Roy Keane are among the frontrunners to replace Steve McClaren at Nottingham Forest.
Cotterill - ex-boss of rivals Notts County - and Keane are among those being considered by the board as they seek to make an appointment this week.
Also in the running are Aston Villa first-team coach Kevin MacDonald and former Barnsley manager Mark Robins, while Stan Collymore and Paul Ince has offered up their services.
Nottingham Forest currently sit just one place above the drop zone in the Championship, having taken eight points from their first 10 games.
