Nottingham Forest striker Matt Derbyshire describes season as 'okay'

Nottingham Forest striker Matt Derbyshire describes his season on a personal level as "okay" so far.

Nottingham Forest striker Matt Derbyshire has described the 2013-14 season as "okay" on a personal level.

The 27-year-old, who has started just two league games for Forest and netted one goal, is currently behind Simon Cox, Jamie Mackie, Jamie Paterson and Darius Henderson in the forwards pecking order at the City Ground.

Despite his lack of chances in the first team, Derbyshire is keen to work hard to impress manager Billy Davies.

"Every single day I'm trying to prove myself to the manager and to the players around me. When I get my chance I'm determined to work hard for the supporters of this football club," he told Forest's website.

"The season has gone okay for me so far. I've started in a few of the cup matches and I've also been getting some game time in the league. I'm pleased I scored goals in those games."

Derbyshire started and scored in every game for Forest in the Capital One Cup as they were knocked out in the third round by Burnley.
