Nottingham Forest have reportedly approached Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink following the dismissal of Alex McLeish on Tuesday.
It has not yet been revealed whether the 40-year-old has been contacted regarding the managerial position or a coaching role, but according to Sky Sports News, there has been a conversation between both parties.
The former Chelsea striker joined Forest in 2011 as a first-team coach, but departed last month after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
Former Forest boss Billy Davies and ex-Southampton manager Nigel Adkins have also been linked with the managerial position at the Championship club.
