Dougie Freedman: 'Michail Antonio, Henri Lansbury not for sale'

Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman says that the club do not have to sell key players like Michail Antonio and Henri Lansbury.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has reiterated that the club do not have to sell key players such as Michail Antonio and Henri Lansbury.

Antonio has been linked with West Bromwich Albion after scoring 14 Championship goals last season, while Burnley have reportedly made an offer for midfielder Lansbury.

Freedman has insisted that his best players will not be allowed to leave under any circumstances.

"Because we are in an embargo it does not mean we need to sell our players," he told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"Burnley talk a very good game and try to throw their weight around. But Henri is my captain; he is a great guy to work with and has fantastic quality. That bid is not even worth a comment.

"The situation with Michail is simple. We had a bid that I did not respond to. He is the best player in the Championship and you don't want to be selling the best player in the Championship."

Forest have been under a transfer embargo since last December.
