Matt Le Tissier believes that Gareth Southgate should start Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose in England's clash with Panama on Sunday.

Matt Le Tissier has called for England boss Gareth Southgate to start Danny Rose against Panama this weekend.

The Three Lions will play Hernan Dario Gomez's side on Sunday as both teams enter their second Group G fixture of the World Cup.

Rose did not start in England's opening game against Tunisia on Monday night, and Le Tissier believes that the Tottenham Hotspur defender's left foot is needed in the side against Panama.

"There has to be a definite change," he told Soccer Saturday.

"Most of the danger came down the right-hand side and I thought it was quite blatant that our attacking threat down the left-hand side was non-existent. Our left-sided centre-half and our left wing-back were both right footed players, so they just kept checking back onto their right foot and it just wasn't dangerous.

"Danny Rose has got to play the next game for me. We have to have at least one outfield player on the pitch who can kick a ball with his left foot, which will help us be more threatening down that side."

England are second in Group G on three points, while Panama are rock bottom following their 3-0 defeat to Belgium on Monday.
