Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson believes that his side's 2-1 win away to Cardiff proves that they can beat anyone in the league, but called for his side to be more consistent.

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has expressed his belief that his side's 2-1 win away to Cardiff City today proved that they can beat anyone in the league.

The Posh ended Cardiff's unbeaten home record with the win, having also ended Hull City's 100% record at the KC Satdium earlier in the season.

Ferguson was happy to enjoy the victory while it lasted, but called for his side to show more consistency in order to escape from the relegation mire.

"We have beaten the best team in the league and also won at Hull so that shows we can beat any team in this league. It's a very good day. But we haven't been consistent enough this season," said Ferguson.

"I have always believed in the players and maintained the confidence that we can get the job done - but we need to produce consistent performances. We played very well but we did so last week. The difference was we defended well too.

"We stuck to the game plan and deserved the win but we didn't finish them off. We were hanging on a bit at the end. But if we continue to perform like that we will be fine in this league."

Despite their win, Peterborough remain bottom of the Championship table after fellow strugglers Sheffield Wednesday also won.
