Barnsley moved into 13th place in the Championship with a 4-3 win over Peterborough on Saturday afternoon.
It was the home side who began the match the better and they could have been one up inside four minutes when Grant McCann struck from distance, but his shot was pushed away by Luke Steele.
For all the home side's early pressure, it was Barnsley who took the lead after 17 minutes when Jim O'Brien fired a long-range effort into the top corner.
Peterborough could have been on level terms within a minute but for Steele, who produced a double save to deny Grant McCann.
Jacob Butterfield put Barnsley 2-0 ahead just before the break, with an effort from distance.
The away side made it 3-0 after 55 minutes when Ricardo Vaz Te struck a fine effort from outside the area but Peterborough cut the deficit to 3-1 after 64 minutes when George Boyd struck from close range.
Ryan Bennett made it 3-2 moments later with a strike from inside the box before Lee Frecklington remarkably drew the home side level after he was found by Boyd 20 minutes from time.
There was time for one more goal, however, and it was Craig Davies who snatched it for Barnsley after 78 minutes when he found the corner from the edge of the box.
Next up in the Championship, Peterborough travel to Leicester next weekend while Barnsley face Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
