Paris Saint-Germain attacker Angel di Maria has claimed that his new team have the credentials needed to win the Champions League this season.
The French champions, who went out in the quarter-finals to eventual winners Barcelona last season, have been drawn into Group A alongside Real Madrid, Malmo and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Di Maria has pinpointed the Real Madrid fixtures as key to deciding the group, but is confident that his side have the ability to enjoy a successful campaign.
"We have many good players, we have a lot of ambition and I have come to help this team, like others before me, win this competition. It's possible for us to win our group, too, but it will be complicated," Di Maria told Le Parisien.
"I think we will have to be perfect at home because it will be difficult to win away in this group. There is no miracle recipe for beating Madrid either. One of the important things is not to make any mistakes because, let's face it, they are a team of very talented players with lots of experience.
"This is what happened in Paris last season against Barcelona in the quarter-finals, with two mistakes costing them dearly. With Madrid, it is the same. But if the Spaniards make mistakes, with our team, we can make them pay very badly."
PSG open their Group A campaign at home to Malmo on Tuesday.
