Laurent Blanc blames pitch for Paris Saint-Germain slump

Laurent Blanc says that Paris Saint-Germain's draw at Guingamp was down to the state of the pitch at Stade Municipal du Roudourou.

Laurent Blanc has cited the pitch at the Stade Municipal du Roudourou as the reason for Paris Saint-Germain's draw with Guingamp.

Alex headed a late equaliser just moments after Mustapha Yatabare had given the hosts the lead in a 1-1 draw on Saturday in Ligue 1.

"My overriding feeling is that we didn't get what we came here for: the three points," Blanc said in his press conference. "I think the state of the pitch was a disadvantage because it really doesn't suit our style of play. But we still tried to play good football.

"In the 83rd minute, we conceded another goal from a set piece. At the moment, the only chances our rivals are getting are from set pieces. We have to work on that. But I am still happy that we came back and equalised and we didn't give up.

"We are disappointed because in normal circumstances we could have had more chances to win this match. Given the context, it was probably the right result, because we didn't produce an amazing match of football either. We will get back to work to try and win the next match at the Parc, against Bordeaux."

PSG host Bordeaux on Friday night at the Parc des Princes.
