Paris Saint-Germain president insists on Carlo Ancelotti stay

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is "very happy" with Carlo Ancelotti and wants to "keep him at the club".

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted that Carlo Ancelotti will stay on as the club's coach.

The 53-year-old Italian tactician has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer and will hold talks with PSG about his future in the coming weeks.

"I'm very happy and I'd like to thanks everyone, especially the supporters," he told Canal+. "Tonight is just the beginning, hopefully of a glorious new chapter in the history of PSG.

"I was very stressed by the challenges of Lyon and Marseille. Next season begins right now. We'll celebrate for a while with the players and the staff. My thanks to everyone for this first trophy.

"Concerning Ancelotti, we'll see at the end of the season. There is a season left on his contract, so in principle he should be staying. I'm very happy with him and we'll do all we can to keep him at the club."

Ancelotti was appointed the PSG coach in December 2011 and led the club to their first Ligue 1 title triumph since 1994 on Sunday.
