Charlie Austin: Sending off "a bit harsh"

Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin believes that his sending off during the 2-0 win over former club Burnley was "a bit harsh".

Charlie Austin has claimed that his sending off during Queens Park Rangers' win over Burnley was "a bit harsh".

The striker was shown a second booking shortly after scoring during the 2-0 win at Loftus Road, after catching defender Michael Keane with his arm.

The 25-year-old former Clarets striker told the QPR website: "I thought it was a bit harsh. My arm was up but I didn't swing it at him. I felt it was very harsh but there's nothing I can do about that now.

"I want to play every game but in a strange sort of way a rest could do me some good. It's only a one game ban which means I wont miss many matches and it gives me a break to get ready for the West Brom match in two weeks.

"I got an assist, a goal and then sent off but I'm still delighted. It's not all about me though as the team got the three which meant it was a six-point week which was exactly what we needed."

The result lifted QPR out of the relegation zone, and two points above Burnley in the table.
