Adel Taarabt plays for Queens Park Rangers Under-21s

Adel Taarabt is named in Queens Park Rangers' Under-21s starting lineup as he hopes to prove his fitness to manager Harry Redknapp.

Under-fire playmaker Adel Taarabt was today named in Queens Park Rangers' Under-21s starting lineup as he tries to battle his way back into the first team.

The Moroccan's future at the club has appeared in doubt in recent weeks after a feud with manager Harry Redknapp over his weight.

However, Redknapp revealed last week that he had had a "great chat" with Taarabt and would consider him for selection once he had returned to full fitness.

He will play for the West London side's development squad this afternoon in their game away at Ipswich Town in a bid to prove his fitness to Redknapp, with the hope of being included in QPR's first-team squad for Saturday evening's Premier League fixture against Manchester City.
