Report: Queens Park Rangers offer Charlie Austin new contract

Queens Park Rangers are to offer Charlie Austin a new contract with a buy-out clause as a reward for his loyalty, according to reports.

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly ready to offer Charlie Austin a new contract after the striker failed to move back to the Premier League on transfer deadline day.

The 26-year-old was a target for a number of top-flight clubs in the summer but QPR stood firm behind their £15m valuation despite Austin entering the final year of his contract.

Many have criticised QPR's decision to hold on to Austin but according to The Mirror, the club want to offer the striker a new deal that includes a buy-out option as a reward for his loyalty to the club.

However, Get West London reports that Austin wants his £20,000-a-week wages doubled and could decide to wait until the summer to leave the Hoops on a free.

Austin has scored four goals in five Championship games so far this season.
